Worship Flags: Figure 8 -Single Hand Technique

In this Single-Hand Technique course, we focus on mastering the One-Hand Figure 8—the foundation of smooth, flowing wrist movement in worship flagging.

Each lesson includes two videos, one for the left hand and one for the right (a total of 20 videos), guiding you step by step through every motion.

The teaching is slow, clear, and easy to follow so beginners can build confidence, and experienced flaggers can refine the details of hand position, timing, and control.

You’ll learn how to:
  • Move with the single-hand Figure 8 technique
  • Practice 10 different variations that build the key foundation of this movement
  • Refine both hand and body positioning with strength, precision, and flow

Take your time with each video. Your progress will be tracked as you complete each lesson on this journey of worship in motion.

The Single-Hand Technique includes:
  • Basic 8
  • Upper-Back Circle
  • Motion Big & Small Circles
  • Figure 8 with Back Step
  • Right–Left Side Circles
  • Figure 8 with Integrated Leg Lift
  • Forward 8
  • Backward 8
  • Front & Back Circles (Foundation of the Windmill)
  • 540° Wrist Rotation

As you practice, reflect on how each movement speaks to you. Just as spoken words can carry many meanings, the same motion can release a unique message for every person. God designed you with a distinct voice—and in worship, that voice moves with power and purpose.

A Note from Called to Flag
At Called to Flag, we don’t assign spiritual names to each technical movement. Not because they lack meaning, but because movement itself is a language of worship. Every motion declares and communicates something from the spirit, and each person interprets that language differently. Giving a single “name” to a movement can sometimes limit your freedom. We want you to follow the Holy Spirit, discover what each movement means to you, and express the worship God is releasing through your life.
